What Is FTC Disclosure?

FTC disclosure refers to the Federal Trade Commission's requirement that creators clearly and conspicuously disclose any material connection (payment, free products, affiliate relationship) with a brand in their content.
Required disclosures include #ad, #sponsored, or platform-specific paid partnership labels placed where viewers can easily see them — not buried in hashtag strings or below the fold. Failure to disclose can result in FTC enforcement actions against both the creator and the brand. Most countries have similar regulations (ASA in the UK, ASCI in India).
